Painting is one of the fastest and least expensive ways to improve the interior of any room.
Simply painting the room, using a faux finish or adding a fun design to your child’s bedroom or playroom wall can make a big difference without the need to change the furniture. We provide high quality painting services to homeowners in Northbrook, Glenview, Highland Park, Deerfield, Evanston, Wilmette, and the surrounding areas.
Different colors have the ability to inspire a wide range of feelings, such as calmness, relaxation, excitement or creativity. Consider the environment you hope to create when selecting warm, cool, light, or bold colors.
- Warm Colors – Warmer shades create fillings of happiness, excitement, and action.
- Cool Colors – Colors that are cool tend to enhance concentration and provide a peaceful and relaxing environment. For this reason, cool colors are often used when painting offices, classrooms, and bedrooms.
- Light Colors – If you have a small space and want to make it appear larger, choose light colors. Light colors reflect light, create the illusion of more space and lighter colors are said to provide an emotional boost. White reflects the most light.
- Dark Colors – Colors on the darker side of the spectrum absorb more light and can make a room seem smaller.
At Castino Painting and Home Services, we can help you with the color selection process for your room. We have color consultants and a cutting edge computer color simulator program. We use this technology to provide a visual of different colors and faux finishes on your wall to help you select the best look for your home.

A message about lead paint and the new EPA Mandate
A new EPA mandated Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) program went into effect on 4/22/10 and was updated on 7/1/10. This program is designed to protect against lead-based paint hazards associated with renovation, repair and painting. This program mandates that contractors working in homes and child-occupied facilities built before 1978 be trained and certified in lead-safe work practices. Castino has been “lead certified” and we are following all EPA rules and regulations. Our Certification Number is NAT-19937-1. As of 7/1/10, homeowners cannot opt out of this mandate. Castino has the right to refuse any job dealing with lead paint. Non-compliance carries a $32,500 fine for contractors. Please call us with any questions or concerns.
