Exterior painting is one of the more dramatic ways that homeowners can change the look and feel of their house. Because it is such a big job, many people may feel nervous to choose a color for fear that once it’s on their house, they won’t like it. Thankfully, at Castino Painting and Home Services, we offer Deerfield and North Shore customers the technology necessary for visualizing such a big project. Our computer program uses photos of your home and applies the paint colors virtually, so that you can accurately see what the paint will look like.
Selecting Exterior Paint Colors
Generally, when painting the exterior of a home, people will choose two or three colors. The first is the main color, or the body color. Second is the trim, which is typically a few shades darker or lighter than the body color. If there’s a third color chosen, it’s used for accents, like shutters or the door. While there are popular colors for exterior painting, you can choose whatever paint you like to create a home that looks jut how you want it to. Our paint consultants will help guide you to the best choice.
Since 1974, we at Castino Painting and Home Services have provided high-quality exterior painting services for Deerfield homeowners, and we’re proud to continue doing so. If you have questions about home painting or other home improvement projects for your house in Chicago or the North Shore, don’t hesitate to contact us.
A message about lead paint and the new EPA Mandate
A new EPA mandated Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) program went into effect on 4/22/10 and was updated on 7/1/10. This program is designed to protect against lead-based paint hazards associated with renovation, repair and painting. This program mandates that contractors working in homes and child-occupied facilities built before 1978 be trained and certified in lead-safe work practices. Castino has been “lead certified” and we are following all EPA rules and regulations. Our Certification Number is NAT-19937-1. As of 7/1/10, homeowners cannot opt out of this mandate. Castino has the right to refuse any job dealing with lead paint. Non-compliance carries a $32,500 fine for contractors. Please call us with any questions or concerns.
